Benefits of Home Security

There are many benefits to securing and protecting your home. The benefits range from lower cost insurance right through to peace of mind. The last thing anyone wants is to come home and find some thief has nicked their stuff, or worse yet snuck in whilst we are at home; so for the most part the overall benefits of home security are obvious.

Unfortunately most of us though don’t consider home security until the day a break-in occurs, damage done, or something is taken from our properties. Don’t find yourself in this situation and give some thought to ensuring your household is secure and protected today.

Home Security Alarms

Whilst an alarm system does not stop an intruder from entering your home, it does act as a deterrent and can help minimise your loss. Burglars are far more likely to target a home without a security alarm system than a house that has one. If entry is made however setting off an alarm, the noise from the siren and screamer usually ensures any would be thief leaves in a hurry.

• A monitored alarm system reports back to a 24 hour manned monitoring station any events taking places such as sensors detecting movement when the alarm system is armed. The monitoring station will then take action based upon instructions you have established with your security company ie. Send mobile patrol officers (alarm response) or call you on your mobile phone.

 

• A standalone security alarm does not have backup of any nature, and relies upon your neighbours or passers by to investigate the alarm. Standalone systems do not usually have any form of ongoing costs associated with them, and hence provide a cheaper alternative to a full monitored system.
